Herbst:

Halloween and All Saints' Day
What connects or separates glowing pumpkins and flickering grave lights?

At the end of the harvest month of October, the pumpkin stands as the last harvested vegetable, so to speak, as a symbol of

a year that is coming to an end. Hollowed out and used as a lantern, it shines into the dark and gloomy November.

Depending on the denomination, Christians now commemorate the dead: on All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day, on the Day of Mourning and on the Sunday of the Dead.

In other religions, there are no uniform days of remembrance for the dead, or none at all.

In Europe, this silent commemoration seems to be marginalized by a rather loud "event mentality",

as if in today's consumer world it were about experiencing an event at least once a quarter, or having a reason for increased

Alcohol consumption in the most appropriate disguise?
